Butter Cream, Fondant, Chocolate Glaze or Chocolate Velvet Texture

Every custom cake we make is individually designed to suit your personal style and requirements. Our cakes are European style with homemade fillings between the layers. The majority of the customers choose the covering on the cakes. There are several choices for the cake covering:

  • Butter Cream – made from scratch mix from real products only. Professional bakeries butter cream ingredients. This is a unicorn cake made entirely out of buttercream on the right.

Fondant – brings the smoothness and sharp colors to the cake. The cake on the left is made out of pink fondant.

Chocolate Glaze – white chocolate that can be created with any colors and combinations. This chocolate glaze cake on the right gives the illusion of a galaxy. Chocolate Glaze is great for a shiny textured cake.

Chocolate Velvet Texture – thin chocolate layer spread on top of the cake. This gives the cake character and mimics fur like in this cat picture to the right.

All of the above coverings taste delicious. It’s just a matter of taste what kind of covering you would like to have on you cake.

Shapes and Decoration

What decoration will you choose? There are unlimited possibilities: Custom cakes can be made in any color combination, with whatever shape you prefer (round, square, offset, hexagon, heart, custom etc.) and decorated with handcrafted sugar flowers, real flowers, intricate piping, lacework, hand painting and special items created from fondant.

Sugar Flowers

Many of my customers request wedding cakes with sugar flowers, which can be perfectly incorporated in both traditional and more modern designs.

We hand craft our own sugar flowers which are colored and often dusted with powders to make them look like real fresh flowers.  Popular flowers I have created this year include: calla, gardenia, gerbera daisies, lilies, magnolia, orchids, peonies, ranunculus, roses and stephanotis.

Fresh Flowers

Fresh flowers can also look wonderful on your wedding, sweet 16 or aniversary cake, but we recommend you do not mix sugar flowers and fresh flowers since the moisture in the fresh flowers can melt the sugar. Kingdom Bakery prefers to use a trusted local florists  or other known supplier to be sure the fresh flowers have not been treated with any harmful pesticides.

Remember that once cut, the flowers are no longer hydrated and will start to lose shape. Roses are a good fresh flower to choose for wedding cakes as they can stay fresh for up to six hours. Alternatives to consider are gerberas, daisies, lilies and magnolias as they all look beautiful on the cake and should hold up for the duration of the reception. However you should avoid fresh tulips, poppies and other delicate flowers that are liable to wilt quickly.


We recommend you book a tasting appointment so that we can discuss your cake design in more detail and talk about cake flavors and fillings, then team member can draw a sketch for your approval. Make sure you give ample time between the appointment and when you need the cake so that we have time to make the perfect cake for you. The cake tasting is complementary. I always try to personally deliver and set up wedding cakes, to ensure that your centerpiece arrives on time and looks perfect for your event. We also supply the perfect packaging of the cakes in case you are traveling with them to other places.
